Stating the obvious

April 3rd, 2009

This was my uncle’s fortune cookie from a family dinner earlier this week.
What’s the funniest / best / lamest / most memorable fortune you’ve ever gotten from one of these?

In High School the fortune cookies for our school lunch used to say “School lunch is nutritious and delicious.”

I like fortune cookies, I used to paste them on my guitar. I twitpic’d my favorite one from recent weeks.

It might be lame…but I will bet that’s it’s the truth. Can’t go wrong!

Wow, fortune cookies are magical…they can read my mind : ) I’ve gotten some weird fortunes, but I can’t remember any.

I’ve got that one and another pinned to my bulletin board at work. The other one is “Support literacy; buy a box of fortune cookies.”

A close friend of mine has received two great ones: “You are pretty” and “Hallelujah” have both been in his cookies.

Fun fact: Chicago (where I don’t technically reside, but spend a good chunk of time) is a huge manufacturer of fortune cookies.

Do you do the xkcd treatment in yours? Most friends append “in bed” after the fortune, but the idea there is to add “except in bed” to the end. Makes it funny sometimes.

    Cheers :)

I’ve had the “you love chinese food” one before. But shorlty after Ryan was born, I got this one: “Someone is looking up to you. Don’t let that person down.”

I’ve kept that fortune in my wallet with a baby pciture of Ryan to remind me of what an important job I now have.

I laughed because I still do the add “In Bed” to the end of fortune cookies. “You like Chinese food in bed.” ;)

You know how on the back they give you a word to say in Chinese? When I was pregnant it my word one day was “girl”. And I had a girl. Kinda spooky, eh?
